Satyagraha movie review

Janata Rocks!

Yes they do..!!

Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha shows to us once again that Janata Rocks, but what happens if that Janata is not lead in the right path and why it is difficult to sustain a Satyagraha.
‘Satyagraha’ is a great effort from director Prakash Jha. He delivers what is expected from the maker of Gangajal, Rajneeti  and Aarakshan.

It is a story of how a retired school master, who sticks on to his principles, will lead a movement with the help of a hard core ‘dilliwala’ business man. It also shows us how different people get attached to the movement, and how it becomes difficult to sustain the flow. The wonderful thing about prakash Jha and his ‘Satyagraha’ is that it sticks to reality throughout. Nowhere in the film have you felt that the scenes are being overdone or misleading.

Ajay Devgan as usual rocks.  Kareena has got a great role and she suits it perfectly, she throws in the right kind of attitude and also emotions. Manoj bajpayee, of course is a born actor, and he effortlessly fits into the negative role. And of all Big B makes his presence feel all over. Who else can take his place!! This does not make the cast perfect, there are some miscasts as well, especially Amrita, who plays ‘Sumi’ is a doll and nothing else, in no scene can she show any kind of expressions on her face. Arjun Rampal usually does a good job, and in this too he does, but the role he plays is not upto the mark, and one would feel he is not apt for it.

The music of the film is an added advantage to the story, direction and actors. Apart from some miscasts and a few loose shots here and there, it is one of those few Bollywood movies that talk of and stick to reality. To show both rise and fall of a movement it takes a lot of effort and mettle and definitely jha has it.

Whether the film is based on ‘Anna’ or ‘Kejriwal’ it is a film worth watching for the feeling that it churns in you.

Badshah Movie review

Badshah, Yet another Srinu vaitla comedy. Starting with Dhee, Srinu has given us some real good reasons to laugh and giggle. Now his latest movie Badshah definitely is also a mass entertainer but differs from his Previous films in the sense that the agenda slightly shifts from complete comedy to some hero worship! His last film Dookudu also shows these traits, but now Badshah takes it to the peaks! Nevertheless it still retains some Srinu mark dialogues and situations that makes the film worthy of a try.

If you look at the story line this one looks like a sequel of dookudu inspired by Pokiri! One can see that Srinu's presence is being felt lesser and lesser film after film. This shows how hero centric are our movies!! the director did not try to adopt the hero to the character. He did it vice versa and that makes the movie a Jr.NTR overdose. And of course again and again he keeps mimicking and talking of NTR. Looks like Jr after all cannot prove himself without a reference to his Grand Pa! What a pity!! A talented guy he is.....and all that talent he uses to be like his Sr.

Chashme Baddoor movie review

Chashme Baddoor is a loud and gaudy David Dhawan movie that continues the current bollywood trend of remaking movies. This movie is remade from the classical 1981 movie with the same name Chashme Baddoor. The story and situations are picked up but the dialogues, direction and acting was not. In case you have already seen the old movie and liked it, then there is good chance that the newer version would let you down. If you not seen the older version then read on.

4 Seasons Restaurant reveiw

Four seasons is a multi cuisine, Veg and NonVeg restaurant with branches in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

We usually visit the Indiranagar branch in Bangalore. They serve very tasty and quality food. The specialty being their wide range of starters. Try their platters which come in Veg, kebab, non – veg etc..

The cuisines available are Moghalai, Arabic, Hyderabadi, Chinese and Lebanese. So its a real treat for a group of people with different tastes. Everyone can have their choice. The quantity of food served is good. The first thing that one would notice at this restaurant is the big, thick menu with lots of pictures. Sometimes you may find it difficult to navigate through those pages to the one you want to. But
having pictures of few of the dishes allows you to choose a new dish.

The ambiance is good, with perfect lighting and non – smelly air. The let down is that their napkins smell though they look clean!! They also have few tables on their roof top which is very pleasant and refreshing. One can also see metro train running between Ulsoor and Indira nagar stations from a distance.

The service is really good and prompt. Even the food arrives in time, and so in total the waiting time is not much.

Items that you must try are Platters (you can choose from a variety of them) in which they give lots of different types of starters especially Veg steak and gold coins, any of the chicken curries, the chicken actually melts in your mouth; kulcha which are soft to the end even after turning cold and the best point about them is they are not very greasy; 4 season special chicken soup is delicious, biryani has the perfect spice and served hot, so tastes yummy. You can also try their desserts like double ka meetha if you do not mind the cost.

Four seasons is an expensive restaurant, it would cost anything from 500 to 800 per person depending on only veg or non–veg or a combination of both.

Special 26 Movie review

Its been a long time that I came out of the theater so happy! The film just makes you forget everything else and entertains you thoroughly…and that too, while maintaining tempo and logic through out.
Well, looks like Akshay kumar along with his routine ‘formula’ movies is catching up with some good stories too!
Special 26 is a movie inspired by real incidents that happened way back in 1980’s. The movie deals with fraud, intelligent fraud that demands ‘pakka’ planning and guts to implement it. It is about a group of such people who are absolutely disciplined, bold and having immense faith in their plan and of-course in each other. What is commendable is that director Neeraj Pandey has a grip over the story he is telling us and the he does not loose the grip on narration until the end titles! To tell a real life story on reel is not always easy, especially so when it involves top notch names like CBI, Mumbai police, politicians, business men etc.. It is a great feat performed well by the writer cum director Neeraj.

One more thing to be noted is the effort the team has taken to suit the locations and settings to suit the time period. They have taken special care in showing all the oldie bikes and cars and buildings to set the mood of eighties.
All the actors performed very well, but a special mention goes to Manoj bajpayee who lives his role. After her many good roles in Telugu and Tamil films one might be disappointed to see Kajal Agarwal doing nothing except looking beautiful. The director is definitely very talented, to have dealt with that subject in a lighter vein and yet none of the characters loses their seriousness.
The songs, though unnecessary and interrupting are good. Easy and meaningful lyrics penned down by Irshad Kamil and M M Keeravani's music, make a great combination.
This movie is a complete entertainer and you will want more of it. A must watch for all the movie lovers who want to watch a heist drama that has sense and comedy that’s not made up. So, go and find out who the special chabbis are and what are they up to.

Midnight's Children Movie Review

Midnight's Children, a silver screen adaptation of the legendary work of the celebrated authour Salman Rushdie is an amazing piece of artistic excellence coupled with content.

For those who have read the novel, I tell that its not possible to fit the vast 600 pages into two and a half hours of screenplay. Deepa mehta as the director and Salman rushdie who adapted his own book into a movie screenplay have taken up a huge task and one has to say, they succeeded.

For all those who did not read the book, it is a novel written in the style of magical realism, with history of India and Pakistan during and after Independence as the background. He narrates to us the ups and downs of the nations while talking about the lives of a set of children born in the same hour of the nation's birth. It is a fusion of history and imagination, a romance of his dreams with his experiences in post colonial India.

Viswaroopam movie review

Viswaroopam ia a big budget movie written, directed and produced by Kamal Haasan is released in tamil and telugu, which would be soon released in hindi too. The movie was in the news for various marketing relating issues on whether to allow it to be screened on dth or theaters first and that it might be an anti-islamic movie, followed by ban in various parts of tamilnadu, andhra pradesh and karnataka. This has caused a curiosity among the audience on what the movie is all about.

Movie starts with the voice of a lady narrating her ambitions of going to US to study Phd and how her marriage life is going on with Vis (kamal haasan). In order to be with her boss, she tries to get something to prove her husband wrong and opts for assistance to spy on her husband, which leads to several other things, finally ending up in a anti-terrorist mission. While this is happening, clues are given on who her husband is, what was he doing before he got married, how he was related to the al kaida and where this leads him.

Kamal haasan performs a character which has 3 completely different dimensions and his action was very fluidic with adjusting mannerisms and emotions. He does full justice to each of the aspects of his role. And Rahul bose complements him in acting, and takes up the anti role against the hero of the movie.

Movie is strong in the technical aspects like cinematography and screenplay, the background score from shankar-ehsaan-loy suites well to the storyline. But the pace of the narration is very slow and may put you to sleep. Not much context is set around who Vis is or how he displays clues related to his past life, which could have increased the curiosity of the audience and involve them more into the flow of the narration.

Overall Viswaroopam is a serious movie with a simple plot and not many twists or interesting ingredients. It could be liked for its technical quality, but loses marks at the pace the story unviels and the anxiety that it generates in knowing what happens next.

Race 2 movie review

Race 2 movie continues from where it had left in Race and is a grand display of money. Movie starts with the blast of a luxury yellow car and the mind race thus begins. First half of the movie is about setting the context, displaying the prize money and making the plans, while the second half of the movie is more about implementing the core plans and getting the pleasure out of the revenge.

In Race 2, either be it the hero or heroines or the villian, the theme revolves around each one of them thinking that they are one who is most clever of the lot, they are the one who is playing the game with others, show courtesy towards the audience in explaining their plots in a detailed manner assuming that they might not understand their very clever tricks and the director gives his full support to turn this into a reality. It is a mostly "I know, he knows, i know" treatment between 4 to 5 characters.

Naayak telugu movie review

Naayak is for all those Ram charan Fans, who enjoy seeing him as a super hero. The opening of the movie is good, with a comedy track going on between the hero, heroine and her family. The first half of the movie is light and just flows through with occasional foreign locale song sequences. Just before the interval there is a twist showing a different angle of Ram charan.

Seetamma vakitlo Sirimalle chettu movie review

Seethamma vakitlo sirimalle chettu is a telugu multi-starrer movie with popular actors like prince Mahesh Babu, victory Venkatesh, Prakash Raj, Jaya sudha, Samantha. Big budget movie releasing on sankranthi and a Mahesh babu movie, so generally the expectations are very high which are reflected in the high prices of multiplexes, completly booked shows for the full first week. Venkatesh and Prakash raj on the other side have the charisma to grab the family audience to the movie. Family backdrop with east godavari accent and location, would surely be expected to add to the movie.

Unfortunately none of the above elements have come to help to save the movie. Bad direction, clueless screenplay, liquid storyline, mis-fired jokes, unnecessary scenes and dialogues in wrong context have all made the movie a total waste of time. Though the actors are popular, cast is ill suited for this movie. Though marketed as a family movie and dedicated for family values, most of the main characters are anit-family; displaying the traits like disrespect for women, hatred for other humans, lazy attitudes with no interest to prove themselves or to work, no self respect, no concern for children's future and anger prevailing everywhere.

Meghana Biriyani, Bangalore

Meghana Biryani, Koramangala will be the sure shot destination for any Biryani lover in Bangalore. Being from Hyderabad I Love eating the aromatic, spicy, hot, beautiful Chicken Biryani.

In Hyderabad one can see a lot of food points and at-least 70 percent of them serve tasty Biryani. That is not the case in Bangalore, I have tried Biryani in many places in Bangalore but was never satisfied. Either they make it too spicy or it lacks the aroma or its overcooked! Being a foody, and a fan of chicken Biryani I started looking out for more places and finally found Meghana. After hearing so much about this place I was still skeptical as to the taste but I am happy to say that Meghana serves the best Biryani in Bangalore!

This is a small place in a busy street of Koramangala 5th block. It is right opposite California Pizza kitchen and is very near to the Forum mall. It is a busy place and is always full. They have good amount of seating capacity, but there are always people standing out, waiting for their turn.
